Vaillant Ecotec - Common Faults

Some great guidance and pointers kindly provided by Mark Ray who knows almost all there is to know on Vaillant Boiler Repairs.

Mark runs his own business and has specialised in Vaillants for over 20 years. we trust our students find this free video helpful

Vaillant Ecotec F75 Fault

Another great Free Video provided by Mark Ray discussing the common F75 fault on the Vaillant Ecotec. Originally this boiler was installed with rubber hoses on the internal primaries, As the rubber slowly perished it quickly blocks the water pressure switch. Removing and cleaning the switch will simply lead to another failure if the hoses are not replaced with the all copper upgrade kit.

High Pressure on a Boiler

Some more great advise kindly provided by Mark Ray

Mark is discussing the most common fault of high pressure on sealed system boilers. On top of the fault he discusses, some older sealed system boilers had metal flexible hoses connecting the primary heating return to the expansion vessel. A quick check of the expansion vessel pressure will soon confirm if its the vessel or connector.

How to Re Charge an Expansion Vessel

This great video comes courtesy of the Ultimate Handy Man, and shows a great way of testing and re-pressurising an expansion vessel, using a Bosch Pump.

Worcester Greenstar Expansion Vessel

This great video comes courtesy of Sebastian Hibbert who kindly strips down a worcester greenstar diaphragm type expansion vessel so you can see its internal design.

Sebastian also discussed the ballon type vessel and how to replace a rear mounted expansion vessel.

A much easier alternative can be found in the next video, and that is to install an external vessel to the primary in a convenient location.

How to Install and External Expansion Vessel

Many late 90's and early 2000 gas boiler manufacturers installed the expansion vessel at the rear of the appliance. This meant that if the vessel needed changing the flue would have to be removed and in many cases the boiler drained and removed from the wall.

This video comes courtesy of plumberparts.co.uk

The labour and cost of the internal rear mounted vessel is greatly reduced by simply installing an external vessel.

Replacement and Testing of Synchron Motor

For those who have not replaced a synchron motor before on a powerhead this user submitted video will be very helpful
Load Testing - Fan Assembly and Gas Solenoid on Multifunction Valve
