- Preventing Carbon Monoxide (CO) Poisoning: Training focuses on recognizing the dangers of blocked flues and ventilators, which can cause lethal CO buildup.
- Appliance Identification: Installers learn to identify different types of gas and fossil fuel appliances and their specific ventilation requirements.
- Safe Operation Checks: Operatives are taught how to perform basic pre- and post-installation safety checks, such as flue-flow and spillage testing.
- Regulatory Compliance: The training ensures compliance with Regulation 8 of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations, which prohibits any work that might affect the safe operation of existing gas fittings.
